How do I renew Interlibrary Loan books?

Answer

To renew Interlibrary Loan (ILL) books, you will need to log in to your ILLiad account

Your book will note on the cover strap whether or not you will be permitted to renew it. Renewals are limited to one time for those items that are eligible.

  1. Log in to ILLiad, to be taken to the main page.
  2. In the left navigation menus, look for the View section. Select Checked Out Items/Renew.
  3. The subsequent page will list any and all books you have checked out through ILL.
  4. The column on this page to pay attention to is the Transaction Number. This number for each item listed is a link. In order to renew an item, you must click the Transaction Number link.
  5. After clicking that number, the page that opens will focus on ONE item record. In the upper left area of the main screen, you should find red text that says RENEW. This will only appear if the item is eligible for renewal. Books cannot be renewed in this way AFTER the due date. Contact the ILL department (ill@taylor.edu) for renewals on items that you can't renew through this method.
  6. After clicking this word, you will be told that a new due date has been set. This is a temporary due date. The lending library will set the actual new due date, and we'll update you with that date via email.
  7. Log out of ILLiad when you are finished.
